This is my hardest but most rewarding battle

Today is day 90 for me. To be honest with you, I’m not gonna pretend that I’m now superman and I have figured it all out within these 3 months but what I can definately say is, that I have learned a lot. I can also say that, I’m now in posession of tools that I can use to built the version of myself that I want.

You see, after the brainfog faded away at day 7, the first stage I experienced was that of excitement and hope. I was tired of my old ways and was super motivated to start a new page.

The second stage was focus and dedication (I wanted to conquer the world, you could say). Waking up very early. Working out. Studying. Cold showers. I was doing everything that I had left because of this addiction.

The third stage was realizing that my backback (all of my new habits) was too heavy for me to carry. I needed to leave some stuff behind, so that’s what I did.

In the fourth stage I encountered a lot of challenges. Loneliness, rejection, and fear knocked me out completely.

At the same time I received a deadline to finish a very important project. This was literally the most difficult thing in the world for me and since I was not in a good mental state at that time I went in denial and started working on that too late.

The fifth stage, it hit me that I messed up big time. I would do anything to go back and finish that thing but I have to live with the consequences now. My depression and everything got worse at this point.

The sixth stage, I realized why I failed. It’s because of old beliefs such as “I can never be good at X. I don’t have the talent” that paralyzed me. I found out I need to get rid of these.

You see, it’s true that there are people who can perform some tasks in minutes while I might need hours for that. But it’s not about them. If I can be successfull at something if I put in the time then I should celebrate and not worry about why the people right and left to me have a few points more.

Today, I’m at a stage right now where I know WHAT I want and HOW to get it. I am convinced that “90 days Nofap” is not enough. True change comes when you include atleast 2 or 3 challenging but doable “90 days” in your life.

“90 days of reading a book/ or exercising for 25 minutes a day.” might look like something small and insignificant but it does add up in the end.

I guess that’s what I have learned.. that these small habits do matter. It does matter what you feed your body with. And the same goes for your mind.

You see, your mouth is the window to your body. And your eyes and ears are the windows to your mind and soul.

So, we need to be very deliberate with the things we listen to, say (to ourselves and others), watch and absorb. For they ultimately create our belief systems.

“Life is all about inches. Sometimes, things get taken from you.

And that’s part of life.

But,

you only learn that when you start losing stuff.

You find out that life is just a game of inches.

The margin for error is so small.

I mean

one half step too late or to early

you don’t quite make it.

One half second too slow or too fast

and you don’t quite catch it.

The inches we need are everywhere around us.

They are in ever break of the game

every minute, every second.”

We want to make sure we develop empowering beliefs that help us in our fight for that inch.

Looking back, this right here is my hardest battle but at the same time it’s the most rewarding one.

Good luck to you all! We can do this
