Hardest thing I’ve ever done. Changing routines, getting more healthy habits, staying occupied. My life has improved tenfolds. I’m never looking back. I’m 25 years old. Been addicted since I was 11. I can resist anything but temptation <– the old me, stagnant and depressed. You know what nofap does to you, keeping you in the fog, not able to process feelings and emotions the same way a healthy human being does.
So a really amazing result from my journey is that I can feel happiness, a feeling I was not familiar with. I’ve got a much clearer focus, and not a slave to instant gratification anymore. I’m much more in tune with my emotions, and I don’t let them control me anymore.
My benefits from nofap are willpower and discipline. Self-control is the chief element in self-respect, and self-respect is the chief element in courage. I put myself out there, in all aspects of my life. My social anxiety is practically gone. I can talk to anyone, about anything, without feeling ashamed of myself. I’ve made stronger bonds, and more giving relationships with people. With that comes more positivity, I’m getting out more, I’m active. The list could be pages long, but that has got to be the best one.
I cut off bad friends who were stagnant, that were keeping me down, and keeping me hooked on weed and alcohol. Now I surround myself with people who strive to better themselves, and I’m learning so much. I socialize almost daily. I was introverted and had bad social anxiety before taking up the battle. Every time an urge hits me, I do something productive, (go for walks, clean, read, play the guitar, go out socializing) anything to kill the urge.
I started working out every single day, I get antsy if I don’t, idle hands are the devil’s playground. Cold showers since day one, twice a day, haven’t had a warm shower in 91 days 😛 I clean my apartment daily. Less clutter = Easier to stay in the right mindset. Eating whole foods, healthy food and nothing but. Taking all the vitamins and minerals I need.
I also watch online lectures on psychology and philosophy, Jordan Peterson definitely check that guy out. He got my mind on the right track. Fix 100 small things over the course of a month, and I can guarantee your life will be better. -Jordan Peterson. Do whatever needs doing, it won’t be fun, but it’ll make your life better! Small consistent changes over time = success
If I can do it, anyone can. My entire life was toxic before this journey. Breaking habits is one of the toughest things you can do, but absolutely necessary to get a better life. A quote that I enjoy: Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. Just abstaining from PMO won’t do much, you got to improve every aspect of your life. Improve 100 small things over the course of a month, and I can guarantee your life will be easier. (Nofap included)
