46M here. I got lucky. It was pretty easy for me. I watched porn daily or more than 25 years. Then on 4/4/20, after the millionth time jerking it to porn, I was just DONE. It was destroying my social life, my romantic life and de-sensitizing my dick. I deleted 1 TB of porn from my hard drive and blocked porn sites across all my devices.
Observations:
-The only time I really got intense cravings was when I was depressed / unhappy, and porn is such an empty, short-term solution.
-Normal girls are just prettier now. And much more interesting and nuanced as human beings.
-I’m more relaxed around girls, instead of anxiously picturing them in sexual scenarios.
-Sex is more meaningful and pleasurable
-I have much more free time!!!
Advice:
-Find something to fill the void in your routine. If you usually watch porn at night, then plan something else – video games, movies or whatever. For me, I took up learning Spanish! Something actively engaging the mind is probably best.
-If you suffer from PIED, get some lotion, FORCE yourself to use your non-dominant hand (with a light touch) and eventually get a flesh light (and then a sympathetic human partner 😃 )
-Stay away from Tik Tok, Instagram – half of it is pretty much porn
