After going on mini-streaks for a year, I finally hit a 90-day reset (hard mode).
Here are things I learned
- NoFap makes me more sensitive to beauty in the world. Constant Fapping made me less perceptive of this. Case in point: finding a girl’s eyes to be the most beautiful thing.
- Fapping was a crutch to numb pain and sadness (albeit minor) in my life. Fapping is a distraction from loneliness, fear, and stress. The discipline of NoFap urged me to acknowledge these feelings, instead of shying away from them.
- NoFap is not enough unless you channel the discipline into pondering how to improve your life, and acting upon it. Meditate, workout, invest in yourself, put yourself in uncomfortable situations, face fears. To loosely quote No More Mr. Nice Guy, no one was put on this earth to satisfy your needs except you.
Overall, I started NoFap because I was single, a virgin, and often felt lonely. I’m still single — 90 days won’t get you a significant other. But it will eliminate a crutch so that you can start thinking about how to improve your life. This is the real reason to do a reset.
I’ve found after 90 days that I act with more energy, I take more responsibility for my needs, and I put myself out there more.
