I’m still pretty new to this, but one thing that’s dawning on me a little recently is that despite the fact I’ve set my personal goal at 90 days, that goal really means nothing. The real aim is to quit completely.
I understand it may not be the same for all of you and some are just doing it to test themselves, but for people like me who have issues in life because of PMO (my issue is ED to be precise), reaching 90 days signals the beggining of forever. Poetic, I know.
From past experiences, I know that addiction is VERY easy to fall back into. Before I started nofap, I’d gone stretches of 40-60 days where I was just too busy or focused on exams to PMO, so inadvertently made a streak. I’d get a rock hard erection the next time I’d look at P, but that effect would be lost within the next 2 or 3 times I PMO.
Ultimately, although 90 days is a great milestone, the real achievement would be to be “clean” forever. The brain may “reboot” after 90 days, but that doesn’t mean you can just start jackin it every other hour after that. For most of us, this shit is for life. We reboot, then live a porn-free life.
