I suffered from ED, which began this year. I didn’t realise until finding you all, and getting more information from YBOP, that porn use could be directly linked to ED. I did NoFap. I went for 90 days, plus or minus.
I didn’t watch porn once in that time, but I had a few fapping moments. The flatline was definitely there — it came in at about the 30 day mark. It was awful. They’re right — you feel like you’re in a hole you can’t get out of. But you eventually climb out. Now, I’m fixed. My PIED is cured.
Some advice. Don’t be too hard on yourself if you fail once or twice. The ultimate goal is to recover, and as long as you continue to stay away from porn, and aim to vastly reduce your fapping levels, you’ll start to see improvements. I started fapping again at about the 90 day mark. Not regularly, and definitely not to porn. But it seems to have had little effect on my recovery. Another piece of advice — don’t see this as the solution to all your problems. Many times during the 90 days I blamed other problems on NoFap. I know many on this forum do as well. Don’t get into that habit, because the science is still developing. Just see it as a way of becoming a healthier person.
I hope people start to realise the harmful affects of pornography and start recognising the causal links between porn, ED and other sexual problems. Because if they don’t, there will be a lot more people like me out there who didn’t get the opportunity to see the truth about PIED and who blindly carry on their ways ignoring the damage they’re causing to their mind.
Finally, to all of you — thank you. I made this account so I could post this. Everyone helped. This is a community that is far ahead of the science, because it’s based on real-world experiences. All of those that haven’t quite made it yet — keep working at it, because the benefits are amazing.
